Google Plus Community for Movie Lovers (Especially Foreign Films)

My definition of “foreign movies” means non-English speaking with English subtitles.

I heart foreign movies and am always searching for the educational and entertaining treasures to be found by viewing foreign cinema. One of the places to find some really good suggestions to add to my watch list is in a Google Plus Community for Movie Lovers. Joined this community in 2013.

Reviewing my community contributions from 2013 to 2017 reveals an interesting variety when it comes to my taste in movies and yes ... before you say it ... some of the movies are not foreign. So glad that this community is still active, still available to the public, and currently boasts over 10,000 members. Here's a recap of some of my shares.

(Sep 2013) “'The Manchurian Candidate' with the Late Frank Sinatra is now a classic and worthy of this distinction. The remake with Denzel Washington? Yeah! I have an opinion.”

(Oct 2014) Must reshare as we just lost this inimitable talent, actor and comedian, Jerry Lewis (1926 -2017), who I will always fondly remember as “The Nutty Professor”.

-The remakes of this old comedy starring #EddieMurphy were not as good as the original. #myopinion”

(Dec 2014) “Thinking of an underrated #ClintEastwood film? Into #oldmovies? This one is a 1975 action and adventure #spythriller. ...”

(Feb 2015) “'New Jack City' (1991) ...  The bad guy had it coming! ...”

(Jul 2016) “ … My take on 3 #Bollywood dramas I thought were intense!”

(Oct 2016) “This is a #Koreandrama #TVseries. ... can't let go of the #soundtrack. ...”

(Mar 2017) “Ever see the movie “The Falcon and the Snowman” (1985)? This is not America.

(Aug 2017) "Classic movies are old movies that never get old."
(You can quote me on that. :) )  ☺

#graceunderfire #courageunderfire #Humor and #Truth

People who do wrong and know they did wrong and refuse to repent.

Don't wrestle with them. Just turn the other cheek walk away.

No, you're not moving because you're afraid God might destroy the righteous with the wicked.

You're just getting out of the way because you don't want to get run over by a bunch of stampeding non-repenting hard heads who looking for a hiding place, trying to dodge lightning bolts.

That's my advice. It worked for me. If you don't want to follow it, you on your own!

The Top 10 Largest Armies in The World - The Gazette Review

Listing dated September 30, 2016. Incredible! China is #1 and that's the country that has a one-child-per-family policy, and they still got a bigger army than everybody else!!! 2,330,000 Troops.
"The modern Chinese army maintains law and order in rural areas of the huge land mass, as well as operating in occupied Nepal. In recent years China has deployed ground troops in support of various United Nations peacekeeping missions, most notably in African countries besieged by violence, such as Sudan, Ivory Coast and Haiti."

Society and Culture: “The Rise of Asia: A New Phenomenon?”

China to rise above the US?  It's a question and a thought.

~ Intro: “Many believe that the rising prominence of Asia, and particularly China, in world affairs is an unexpected and new phenomenon but history shows us that Asian superiority in terms of the progress and cultural output of their societies has occurred in the past.”

~ Conclusion: “The West may see a threat in the rise of Asia but Asian countries see an opportunity to improve their status and move their societies closer to what they once were.”

Interesting reading.
~ Will China will ever become more powerful than the US?
~ Care to weigh in?
My answer was not included in the poll's multiple response options.
My answer is: Define “powerful”.
