Frank 'Chip' Etier Writes Political Thrillers

FC Etier (Frank “Chip”) is a freelance writer, blogger, photographer, and author.  Crossed paths with Mr. Etier because we're both in the Authentic Bloggers Group on Facebook.  He's an ordinary guy, a really nice man.  He published The Tourist Killer, his first novel in November 2012 and quickly followed up with a sequel, The Presidents Club.

Before he decided that he would also become an author, F. C. Etier (Frank“Chip”) already had an impressive resume. He is an accomplished freelance writer, blogger, and photographer. Nevertheless, in 2012 he published his first novel. It’s a fast-paced thriller loaded with the political overtones that generally accompany a web of conspiracy and intrigue. His debut thriller was so well-received that he followed it up with a sequel. Together, Books 1 and 2 are referred to as The Barry-Hixon Conspiracy Books.

BOOK 1: “The Tourist Killer”: In this first book, the main character is Claudia Barry aka “The Shooter”. She never knew her real father and her mother died from cancer when she was just twelve years old. She was raised by a man she lovingly referred to as Grandpa O’Houlihan. He taught her how to shoot. Those skills sure came in handy when she grew up to be a lady.

When we meet Ms. Barry, she is getting ready to retire from a successful career as a professional assassin.

Retire? Well duh! She’s 62 years old.

Hey! Don’t go imagining some little old white-haired lady like the grandmother in the fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood.

Think Pattie LaBelle (sexy sixties!) or Tina Turner (super sexy seventies!).

Ms.Barry has been a hired assassin for 30 years and she’s ready to get on with the rest of her life. But … but … but what? You guessed it. She has to do one last job and … answer one simple, yet somewhat complicated question. “Can a leopard change his (or her) spots?”

BOOK 2: “The Presidents Club“: John Hixon, like Claudia Barry, also worked for the government. He didn’t have to take a final job before leaving. He was a retired FBI agent who took another job after leaving federal service. He provided security for a billionaire investor Julian F. Thibaut. He was injured doing his job and was trying to rest and recuperate from his wounds when Thibaut calls him to come back to work. His particular set of skills and experience are badly needed. This time, the job is to provide security to protect seven of Thibaut’s friends and investigate a murder. Eh! Easy job for an experienced G-man like him. NOT!

Considering the genre he chose to write one would expect Mr. Etier to say his writing style was influenced by John Grisham. It was. However, Mr. Etier also credits Dr. Seuss. Go figure.

If you like political suspense thrillers and if you like conspiracy theories, then these books are the perfect bedtime stories. LOL.
