Are you a person who loves trivia? ... who loves to learn all kinds of facts and figures about anything and everything? ... or you like a surprise, i.e. when you stumble across information about possibly some things you needed to know but you you didn't know?
There are a bunch of fantastic websites loaded with that kind of “stuff”.
Three very popular sites are: BuzzFeed, MentalFloss, and Listverse.
But there is one site in particular that, in my opinion, is worth signing up to receive their newsletter via eMail. They have videos , brain games , puzzles , lists , quizzes , advice on money matters, electronics, science, etc.
The site is called “How Stuff Works”.
Here is a sampling of article titles:
– Is Sapiosexuality a Real Thing?
– 10 Scientifically Sound Weather Superstitions
– Disastrous Food Combinations Quiz
– Can You Make a Living on YouTube
– Birthstones Puzzle
– 6 Common Sayings You’re (Probably) Saying Wrong
– 10 Fairy Tales That Are Way Darker Than You Realized
– Do you know how a light bulb works? Take the Quiz.
Isn't some of that “stuff” you want to know?
OK. Maybe this kind of stuff does not interest you. But that kind of stuff does interest me and it is what drew me to this site. Then the light bulb went off in my head. Hey! At this site you can also find practical advice, tips, and tricks for writing, blogging, affiliate marketing, and social networking which are my work at home activities that I pursue to make money online.
RE: Example: WRITING – You will find help on how become an author or for writing articles about a specific niche like travel or mental health. You can find advice on how to get a job as a video games writer.
RE: Example: BLOGGING – You can find information about almost everything: how to get started blogging; an explanation of how to use features of blogging platforms like Tumblr and Blogger; or how to add your blog to your Facebook page.
RE: Example: AFFILIATE MARKETING – You will find articles on how affiliate programs work; how banner ads work; who uses targeted ads and how they use them; and how millennials have figured out to generate revenue from affiliate marketing.
RE: Example: SOCIAL NETWORKING – Get advice on how to use social media or social networking for your business or your career; or how to start your own social networking site (if you are ambitious enough to become the next Facebook). Also, learn what happens to your social media when you die!
It's easy to peruse the How Stuff Works website and find useful articles. Use the search box in the upper right hand corner OR use my favorite way to seek and find by Googling it. Take a specific term and direct the search engine to only search the site. For example, if you want to know the articles written about social media, go to the Google search box and type in “social-media site:howstuffworks.com” (without the quotes).
