Adding to My Collection for Tolkien Enthusiasts

One of my hobbies is collecting tidbits about Tolkien.  My first JDV blog post. "Bio Sketch of J. R. R. Tolkien, Author of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy", shared a link from a page I had published almost 10 years ago, along with some other links of interest.

Found an absolutely fabulous blog post to add to my collection, titled "Tolkien’s Angels: A question of belief".  This is from a blog published by Carolee Croft and it is a guest post written by epic fantasy author R K Lander.

“If you are not a Tolkien geek, haven’t read the Silmarillion, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, or just haven’t read about elves in mythology, your impression of an elf is probably ... tall angels with long hair and flighty voices who dance to the lyre and cry woeful tears as epic poems are recited. They float angelically around majestic gardens of blooming flowers …”

NOTE: Had to reshare this post not because it's a great addition to my collection for Tolkien enthusiasts but also because the images are simply irresistible and also I like angels and elves. Some are creatures of fantasy and some are very real. Do you know which is which?* You may disagree with me but let's not. Let's just enjoy these lovely images.  Shared the one above via Pinterest.  Here's another one from the post.  It's spectacular!  You must visit this lady's blog.  The whole blog is spectacular!

Angels or Aliens? (My Thoughts. No Proof!)

I have always wondered what life was like in Bible times. Mainly because of the miracles that were described. I would love to have been an eye-witness to such events.  Also because it would have been awesome to have an encounter with an angel.  I have a theory about all those alleged close encounters with aliens. (A theory. No proof!)
  • I don’t believe in aliens from other planets.
  • I do believe in angels from another world; the heavenly realm.

My theory is that all those so-called “proofs” that aliens once visited the earth – IF there really are unexplained marks, residue, etc. that indicate activity of a non-human “essence” – my “best guess” is those non-humans weren’t aliens; they were angels. Show me all the proof you have, it won’t overrule or override my guess!  My genuine belief.

Forgive me if my expressions of thoughts come out on paper the way they usually are in my brain — scattered … but make sense to me! ๐Ÿ™‚

Continuing this discussion by incorporating a reference to another article – What is the Merkabah? – because so many people out there are interested in the topic of either aliens or angels or both, and the study of things that seem to be related, like merkabah.

“The Merkabah was thought to be a divine light vehicle (a spiritual space ship of sorts) that transported people from one dimension to another and thus enabled people to access, connect with and communicate with beings of other dimensions. …”
Also sharing a link below to another site. Whether you agree with me or not on my angels versus aliens stance, you will still find this topic of “human angels” fascinating and worth exploring.  People committed to good works = human angels.
Finally, my readings led me to this marvelous YouTube video which has background music featuring the soulful serene vocals of Sarah MacLaughlan; song titled “Delerium”.

“Heaven holds a sense of wonder”. (Quote lifted from the song lyrics.)

Aliens. Angels. Merkabah. You can see how these things all connect. Right? (O.o)

Daily Favor: Undercover Angel (Reblog)

Reblogging from "Fay". A lovely lady who describes herself as an: Inspirational Christian Author, Writer, Teacher, Encourager, Blogger, Wife. (@Favored1)

“God must have needed another angel” is a common saying when someone leaves this world.

Even though all the angels were created before the foundations of the earth, somehow it brings people comfort thinking their loved one is in the company of this heavenly host. ...

Con't reading ...

JDV Comments:

When we experience the death of a loved one, there is a great temptation to believe that they have become angels and are now in heaven watching over us. But there are no scriptures that teach or tell us this. It's just a comforting thought to hold on and help us through our grief. I do believe in angels. But the key takeway from the scriptures is that whenever humans have had encounters with angels, we lowly creatures were told BY the angels NOT to worship them.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: The angels have their purpose in the creation. But that purpose was never to save our souls. Only God can offer salvation. And He did. John 3:16

Blessings to all those who read this.

Amen!
