Artists I Fancy: “The beauty of nature” by Amar Singha

Became a Virilyan last year (2017). That simply means I joined a social blogging community called Virily.com and that's what the members are called. Virilyans.  Sounds like a people from Middle Earth huh?  NOT!  ☺

Anyway!  The membership for this site does not just include writers or bloggers. There are many talented artists such as Amar Singha. I found his posts on Virily and it sent me on a quest to find more of his artwork and determine where his works could be purchased. My treasure hunt was successful. You can follow my treasure map too!

Talented Photographers : Veikko Suikkanen

Spotlight on Talented Photographer ~ Veikko Suikkanen :

"To take a perfect picture you must be in the right place and at the right time, this is especially true of nature photography to which I myself belong. Natural photography takes a lot of time and patience to wait for the right weather, the right light and being in the right place. "

Veikko Suikkanen is also an artist.

In his own words: “I have painted all my life, I use oil colors and soft pastels. Most of the topics can be found in nature and animals. ... Photography has been my life for nearly 30 years, as well as digital artwork I've done a few years. I also paint commissioned portraits of people, animals, and just about anything you want.”

#DemocracyDefeated: How Indian Right-Wing Groups Stalled A Bollywood Period Drama ~ Global Voices (My Opinion)

Global Voices is a publication that opens your eyes to the world around you. This particular article peaked my interest for two reasons. Number One, I enjoy watching Bollywood movies. Number Two, I am a huge fan of Deepika Padukone.

I AM APPALLED!!! SHOCKED! and quite frankly, DISGUSTED!!! at the content of this article. Not upset with the article writers. In fact, they are very brave to write the article at all. How do they know there won't be a bounty on their head too???!!

Is this what real life is like in India, a democratic country?

So???  QUESTION.
In India, politicians or political leaders can actually threaten citizens with beheading?? Oh my!

Say what? Oh of course. The article does use the word “alleged”.

Alleged? Oh!  Does that mean it's not REAL??

NO! Alleged means it could be VERY REAL. But right at the moment, there is no PROOF!!

So??? QUESTION.
If Ms. Padukone gets her head chopped off, will that be PROOF??

Here are a few excerpts from the article that will send shivers up and down your spine.

"...  put a $1.5 million bounty on Deepika Padukone's head, asking followers to behead her and the movie's director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Other threats included chopping off Padukone's nose, burning her alive and beating up other actors in the movie. ..."

Follow up to this Global Voices article dated Nov 2017.  Report by Geo.tv dated Jan 9, 2018.

So???  QUESTION.
Now that the film will be released, does this mean that threatening citizens of India with beheading is OK?? Oh my!

We Heart It : My Year in Hearts ~ 2017

Joined We Heart It during 2017. Started 8 Collections (listed below) and ended the year with 86 Followers. The 8th collection is just a grouping of my most popular hearted images during 2017; i.e. images I shared that other people liked.  I have enjoyed using the social media platform and plan to use it more during 2018.

During the year WHI made a significant change and allowed people to start writing articles.  Before this change, it was strictly an image-sharing site.  I embraced the change by publishing one article.  I Heart Korean Dramas and Art (It's My Obsession!)  It wasn't too bad for a first try.  I may do more articles and take advantage of this free writing platform.  I haven't decided yet.  For now, I am loving sharing images that I .
