Anger Management: Is It OK to Be Angry?

Is it OK to be angry?  Sure!

Getting angry is a natural emotion and reaction.
- Taking out your anger on others is NOT!!
- AND …?? And there is no EXCUSE or REASON for you do it!


IF the source of your anger is social media or constant negativity and your anger is a result of this, that's easy to fix. Don't get on social media AND ignore the negativity. People have “turn off” buttons in their brains!

IF the source of your anger is economic hardship … Do you think you're the ONLY ONE having a hard time?? WELCOME TO THE CLUB!! A lot of people all around the world are experiencing economic hardship. Angrily yelling, screaming, and attacking someone else is not going to fix it!

IF it a mental health matter, GET HELP! Granted, that might be easier said than done, but it's not impossible to do!

(Let me preach a little bit.)

When it comes to people thinking they're suffering, they need to look around them: Do you know why? The Bible says: “Nobody is enduring any temptation that isn't COMMON to man.”

COMMON? That means almost EVERYBODY is going through crap!!

Do you think when you see another person smiling, that it's all good? Maybe yes or or maybe no. That's none of your business!

What is your business is you not taking out your anger on another person. That's under YOUR CONTROL.

Corruption is a Cancer and Some Countries are Sicker Than Others (An Opinion Piece)

“Why is corruption so hard to remove in our country?”

This question was asked by a person on Facebook. The question and the answer they provided were country-specific. They were discussing the present situation in India and presented an outsider’s point of view on why corruption is an accepted way of life in that country.
I am also an outsider. I live in the United States and have never been to India or to a lot of other places in this world. (Never even been to California.) That doesn’t stop me from having a point of view and my perspective is not country-specific. It’s a world view.

Corruption is a cancer that exists all around the world. ALL countries get sick from it. Some countries are more sick, more than others. But no country is immune to corruption.




In fact, there is no place on earth where people live in a community with rules that should be followed for orderliness, settling disputes, punishing wrongdoing, and living a peaceful happy life, where corruption won’t rear its ugly head. Once it happens …

CORRUPTION is hard to remove in ANY COUNTRY!

How does corruption occur? It’s the G-men!
We won’t include organized crime, cartels, gangs, and thugs in this discussion. Let’s talk about the other G-men. Not “G” for gangster. “G” for government officials.
First, the corrupt person (one lone individual) provides “fake promises” that will dutifully serve the people; knowing full well that they really only intend to serve themselves and help themselves to whatever they can get!
Once The Corrupt get into their positions and hunker down, they have absolutely no plans for leaving. EVER! Not only that, they surround themselves with supporters who get treats and rewards for “being naughty” FOR THEM.
They build a stronghold of “invisible soldiers”. Invisible? Yes. Quite often you don’t know who’s serving who. It’s not like these people walk around wearing a badge that identifies them.
Then there are those who are NOT supporters but they are too afraid to do anything or speak out against the pernicious acts of the G-men because they fear for their lives or the lives of those they love. It’s just a matter of self-preservation.
As complicated as the matter is, when faced with corruption there are only 3 solutions/choices.

Fight, Flight or Stay.

Fight. Stand up for your rights and demand change. Some use force, weapons and violence. Some use peaceful nonviolent methods. Either way. THEY FIGHT!
Flight. Leave and go live elsewhere. Hey! Home Sweet Home is wherever you can build it. Mr. Von Trapp was a wealthy man (according to the movie “Sound of Music”)’ but he took his family and left the country anyway!
Stay. Live with it. Not everyone has the physical and mental strength to fight. Not everyone has the means to leave. If you can’t leave and you feel you’re not strong and/or brave enough to fight, then you acquiesce. You resign yourself to the fact that corruption in your daily life is the “normal” and you take each day as it comes. There is a tiny bit of hope buried deep down inside of you that maybe one day you’ll be delivered from evil.

Even though corruption is hard to get rid of, it’s not IMPOSSIBLE!

The purveyors and perpetrators of corruption can be brought down. I would say brought down low. But The Corrupt are already LOW! They just take their seat in high places.
Cause and effect. If one can eliminate the cause, one can eliminate corruption.
Most people think Divine intervention is too slow, so often a military overthrow is the solution.
But well-known singer/songwriter Sting says that he “never saw a military solution that didn’t end up as something worse”.
So why is it so hard to root out corruption?

Simply put … the root cause of corruption is … Brother Against Brother.

That’s why it’s so hard. Hard. Not impossible.

You Did Not Ask My Opinion, But You Might Be Interested

The year 2022 is about to end.  I am a blogger and article writer and publish content all around the web, on a wide range of topics.  Every once in a while I share my opinion.  Below is a list of several articles where I voiced my opinion on certain matters.  Unlike a lot of people, you can change my opinion with facts or friendly persuasion.  So if you read one of my opinion pieces and you disagree, feel free to share your thoughts and perspectives.  These articles express my opinion and I believe I am right.  But I accept that I could be wrong.  Happy to hear a another voice.

The Economy: Who Needs Leprechauns When They Have Capitalism?

There are several legends, myths, or fairy tales about leprechauns. But the story that almost everybody knows is the one about catching these wicked tricky little guys and forcing them to give you their pot of gold which is at the end of the rainbow. The tale is supposedly a warning against greed or being greedy that clearly … everybody ignores!



Many people call Facebook “Facebookistan” because it’s like a whole other country in and of itself and should have its own flag. But you know? So is Google! The corporation is really woven into the fabric of our world. People diss capitalism in favor of socialism, communism, or other forms of government where they believe that wealth among citizens will be equitably apportioned.

QUESTION: Would Google and Facebook even exists if it weren’t for the entrepreneurial spirit nurtured by capitalism?

ANSWER: NOT ALL capitalists are wicked overlord imperialist dogs.

Also, I never really bought into that claim that 99% of the population are poor folks; and all the riches and wealth belong to only “The One Percent” of the citizenry in the USA, which is a capitalist country. Please! Every country, no matter what type of government or economy is in place, has The 3-Tier system.

Tier1: Wealthy people on the top.
Tier 2: Poor people on the bottom.
Tier 3: Folks who are managing to get by on what they make with a little bit extra to spend for “wants”.

You know it’s true! Neither the French Revolution or the Communists got rid of the bourgeoisie. A word like “oligarch” is not an archaic expression. It is a word in our current vocabulary that is applicable to certain people TODAY!

Greedy people know no boundary lines and have no respect for any form of government. If they can find a way to exploit and access ill-gotten gain, it doesn’t matter what kind of economic system is in place in any country.

I truly believe that capitalism adds value to any society or nation because people have more freedom to use their talents, skills, and abilities and turn their work efforts into “pots of gold” which can be further translated into philanthropy, humanitarianism, or charity.
Why can’t we all be given the opportunity to use our God-given gifts and talents, to aspire to color our own rainbows, and to create our own pots of gold? It’s a very reasonable question.

We will always have greedy people in this world. But leprechauns do not exist in this world and we don’t need them even if they did! We have capitalism!

P.S. For the record, for all you leprechaun-lovers out there, I am NOT hating on leprechauns. But let’s be clear. Leprechauns (nor the tooth fairy, for that matter) do NOT lead to an increase in individual wealth.

Is It Our White House or the President's Palace? CHOOSE!

MY REACTION TO TRUMP’S POTUS NOMINATION ACCEPTANCE SPEECH AT THE RNC2020

I didn’t listen. I did tune in. But I saw an audience full of people sitting close together and not wearing masks. I saw the POTUS with a spotlight shining on him as if he were an awesome superstar and he was laughing and grinning so much that the lights were bouncing off of his pearly whites

Then I thought about all the people dying from COVID-19 and remembered that the POTUS casually remarked at another rally that he told “his people” to slow down the testing. “His people”???? Are they different from “We the People”?

I thought about protesters against police brutality that have taken to the streets, regardless of the possibility of the very real possibility of being infected because … Hey! Choose! Catch a virus and die OR get choked to death, get shot in the back 7 times, or get shot while sleeping in your bed 8 times? Choose what? What choice? They don’t see the difference.

I thought to myself? He’s the President. How can he laugh at a time like this? Does he really not understand the gravity of the situation? Does he even care? 


So I turned the channel and tuned him out! I don’t think I missed out on anything historic other than the fact that he accepted the presidential nomination directly from the White House. WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE!!

Eh! What do I know? I’m just an AAC (average American citizen).

America: Yesterday ... All Our Troubles Seemed Just Like Today

Below is a portion of a famous speech given by John Francis Hylan while he was mayor of New York in 1922.

"The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government, which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation. To depart from mere generalizations, let me say that at the head of this octopus are the Rockefeller–Standard Oil interests and a small group of powerful banking houses generally referred to as the international bankers. The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both parties, write political platforms, make catspaws of party leaders, use the leading men of private organizations, and resort to every device to place in nomination for high public office only such candidates as will be amenable to the dictates of corrupt big business. These international bankers and Rockefeller–Standard Oil interests control the majority of the newspapers and magazines in this country. They use the columns of these papers to club into submission or drive out of office public officials who refuse to do the bidding of the powerful corrupt cliques which compose the invisible government. It operates under cover of a self-created screen [and] seizes our executive officers, legislative bodies, schools, courts, newspapers and every agency created for the public protection." 

That was in 1922. 


Not much has changed, has it? 

Admit it. If I had not told you that was spoken in 1922, you would have thought I was describing current events. Wouldn't you?

Life is like a television soap opera. You could be a loyal viewer. But then you stop watching it for a long time. One day you decide to start watching again. When you do start again, you realize that you can practically pick up from where you left off. Because nothing much has changed. 

(NOTE: I actually did stop watching a soap opera once and then started watching it again years later. That's how I know you can pick up right where you left off. That's why I can make the analogy. )
* * * Does America have an “invisible government”? Quite frankly, I believe every country has one. The USA is no exception. Nevertheless, Americans have a Constitution that allows US to publicly govern ourselves.
"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Government and Politics: The L'Amour Version of Democracy ~ AGREE or DISAGREE

Agree or Disagree.

I DISAGREE!!

I DON’T VOTE!! I PRAY!!

And in a democratic country … that’s OK!

In a democratic country, you can NOT VOTE and still COMPLAIN when something is NOT RIGHT!

The only other form of government that I think has redeeming qualities is Socialism.

But if I had to choose between Democracy and Socialism, I would choose Democracy.

As for the other forms of government? Whatever!

I’m for real when I say that. WHATEVER!

I think people are quite capable of governing themselves. But I also think a democratic nation does need a military force. I know there are some countries that don’t have a military. In a perfect world that would be ideal. But we don’t live in a perfect world. It’s a matter of national security.

With regard to utilizing a military solution as a resolution, I think ALL nations should have this attitude:

“Don’t start nothing. Won’t be nothing.
But if you start something …
you will regret that you barked up that tree!!”

It’s self-defense. Plain and simple.

I really think the only reason we need an elected fearless leader is in the event of a war, and that they should be equipped with the deal-making or negotiating skills to know how to make peace OR if need be, know enough about the “art of war” to make The Enemy go away so that we can live our lives in peace!

The One Word That Describes Nearly Every War - Express Yourself! - Medium

When I am not blogging at one of my blogs or contributing my two cents at forum discussions, you can find me writing articles or editing articles for Express Yourself!, my Medium publication.  Several writers have signed up to contribute articles for this publication.  

Cody Trusler is one of those writers.  He wrote an article titled "The One Word That Describes Nearly Every War".  It's a thought-provoking read.  In fact, it provoked these thoughts which I shared as a response to his article but I am also repeating via this blog post because ... ???  Because I feel it bears repeating.

The one word that can end all wars is LOVE. But it can’t just be a word. It must be an ACT.


It's funny that you used the words “comedic explanation” because I was laughing as I was reading the paragraph just before seeing these two words. When you began your next paragraph, I'm like: “How did he I was laughing?” LOL.

But your use of the other word “superpower”? That's not a joke.

Why is that people have no problem understanding that a superhero is fiction. But they insist on believing that being a superpower, as opposed to having superpowers, is real.

A SUPERPOWER IS NOT REAL! It's a figment of man's imagination. Just like superheroes.

Dear Leaders: Look at the facts.

There were and are nations who could and can boast that they have the largest military force IN THE WORLD! But does that stop other countries from looking at them from a distance and thinking: 'Eh! They must have a weak spot somewhere.'

That's why when a large military force tries to approach the country with a smaller military force, the country with a smaller force starts strategizing.

That's why there's such a thing as a WAR ROOM!! Those military geniuses get together and say “You not even gonna bully US!! How many soldiers we got? How much weaponry? Where are our allies? Etc. Etc. Etc. It's not war. It's self-defense. On the 'outside' it just looks like war.”

Don''t you see Mr. or Ms. Leader with the Goliath-complex? Trust me on this.

If you really were a real superpower, EVERYBODY WOULD ALREADY KNOW!!

There would be NO WAR because everybody would be too scared to fight YOU!

Really!

Looking for a Successful Male? He's in the Details.

Had an opportunity to peruse the Special 15th Anniversary Edition of a magazine called “Details”.  There was a detailed article in the magazine paying tribute to successful males "whose influence has shaped every facet of our culture and defined the young millennium" (direct quote from the Table of Contents).

His name? Bradley Cooper.

Bradley Cooper made the cover of the October 2015 anniversary issue as one of The Most Influential Cultural Figures of the New Millenium.

Mr. Cooper along with several other 21st century men deemed groundbreaking icons are profiled on pages 103 - 133.


Totally OK with all the leading men showcased in the portfolio with one exception.
  • Number 15: Edward Snowden.

Mr. Snowden is the whistle-blower who is being given credit for exposing the U.S. government's surveillance abuses, in the name of national security, truth, justice, and the American way ... blah blah yadda yadda.

Per the article writer, Bret Begun: "How history will judge him is anybody's guess."

No guess for me. Wrote out my judgment as to his actions, January 27, 2014, and posted it on Google Plus. Click here. He left the USA.  He is one leading man I will not be following.
